The smoke effect was a texture from cgtextures.com.

I think I used the overlay effect to make it look like that, and I think I used another layer option as well to make just a little bit of drop shadow to make it look more real.

Oh, good luck with that!

Digital art can be really fun, but also equally frustrating when things go wrong. xD Sort of like when you spill a glass of water over a finished watercolour painting.. but then, digital art has the ctrl-z command!
I recommend reading tutorials and just experimenting a lot! Brushes and textures are lovely, but it's easy to overdo it. (I've done that mistake in the past... and still do.)

I remember getting into digital arts myself about... wow that must be over 6 years now. It was definitely difficult at first, but the more you learn the easier and more fun it gets!
